2009 Application Fees:

Producer fees vary from $650-900, depending on what state you live in, if you are certifying livestock, have an on-farm handling operation, etc. Please consult the appropriate link above for more information. Processor/handler fees are $475 with inspection fees and expenses billed separately after your inspection. These inspector fees can be anywhere from $250-1,000 depending on the size and complexity of your operation.

2009 Application Deadlines:

New applicants must submit their applications by April 15, 2009, with a late penalty fee of $100 if postmarked between April 16 and May 15, 2009. No new applications will be accepted after May 15th.
All other growers must submit their applications by June 15, 2009, with a late penalty fee of $100 if postmarked between June 16 and July 15, 2009. If your application is not received by July 15, 2009, you will be out of compliance with the National Organic Program (NOP) and may risk losing your certification.
Applications are accepted year-round for processor/handlers, greenhouses, and maple syrup operations.
