Ervin Barkman runs a 60 head, 100 percent grass-fed organic dairy on Hidden View Farm's 200 acres where he practices intensive grazing rotations and forage management. He has overcome many challenges of a grass-fed dairy, including mineral imbalances and lackluster soil life, by working with Advancing Eco Agriculture (AEA) to implement cutting edge methods to provide high quality forages and ensure the quality and consistency of the cows and milk. His herd has shown improved quality with no vet visits in several years, and the dairy has experienced extraordinary gains in milk production, fat and protein content, pasture growth, and herd health.
