Vacant Lots Become Productive Urban Farm Tour
Columbus, OH
Saturday, August 10, 2019
10-11:30 a.m.
Magic House Farms is a community-based urban farm spanning a half acre on converted vacant lots in the Franklinton neighborhood of Columbus. In its third season, the farm focuses on companion planting and intercropping. Across four city Land Bank parcels, practices rooted in organic agriculture have been used to maximize a healthy crop yield and variety for food for the local community. The expansion and experimentation of the farm have been made possible by volunteers. You are invited to come and see how this urban oasis in a distressed neighborhood has grown from a small one person operation to a flourishing and needed neighborhood resource.
This event is presented by The Ohio State University and part of the 2019 Sustainable Farm Tour and Workshop Series. Events are free and open to the public unless otherwise noted in the tour brochure. For more information about OSU's other events, go to www.extension.osu.edu.
